NK Orange with a Texture Overcoat

NK - Orange, OPI - Black Shatter, and China Glaze - Black Mesh Crackle (from left to right)

NK-Orange
With it being Halloween, I wanted to give you all a Halloween-ish look, so I began with this bold color. I love it because it is so bright. It is also great because you can find NK polishes for $1 and they dry quickly.

Overcoat of OPI - Black Shatter

Overcoat of China Glaze - Black Mesh Crackle

I used the Black Shatter on my left hand and the Black Crackle on my right hand to show the differences between the two.
Black Shatter seems to "shatter" into more and smaller pieces and I think this makes it look nicer. The problem is that the brush for Black Shatter is slightly larger, so it can become difficult to apply. Also, with Crackle you can paint over an area more than once if it doesn't go on right, but with Shatter you can't because if you do, the polish will just go on black.

A few tips: Sometimes people say that their polish stops shattering...if this happens, make sure to clean your brush; that should do the trick. You should also make sure that you don't have a fan on as you are applying the polish because I've noticed the polish won't "shatter" properly.

Well that's it for now. Have a safe and happy Halloween, everyone! :)

OPI You Don't Know Jacques!

OPI- You Don't Know Jacques! Must have for fall.

You Don't Know Jacques is such a unique color to me. Although it's a subtle color. It also stands out. What you see in the bottle is what you get on your nails. In this picture it may look a bit more gray but to the naked eye it is a brownish, grayish, mauvy, taupe color. (I know, I know a lot of colors to describe this polish). I think this is a must have in your nail polish collections and a great shade for fall!

OPI You Don't Know Jacques! with flash. (As you can see the flash makes it look very gray)

Golden Coast - Funky Fingers

Funky Fingers - Golden Coast (With Flash) I obviously LOVE glitter polishes ;)

Once again, Funky Fingers proves that price does not determine quality. This polish is fabulous with all its beautiful glitters. I think most gold nail polishes are gorgeous and I love them because they look great on all skin tones. I also think they are great because they're sort of neutral, so you can wear it any time.

I apologize for the poor quality of this image, but it was the only way to truly showcase the beauty of this polish.

NOTD: Indigo by Forever 21?

I love this color for FALL! It is such a "POP" of color, and a pretty one too. So I went to Forever 21 and stumbled upon their polishes and was amazed by all the colors. This claims to be Indigo but I find it to be more blue than Indigo, welp that's IMO! Anyways I still love it because it's so pretty and oh yeah, only $2.80!

Love & Beauty Indigo (I had to use flash because it really picked up the actual color). =)

NOTD: Essie Turquoise and Caicos

Essie's Tuquoise & Caicos is such a pretty turquoise creme. This polish is part of Essie Resort Collection.

Even though this is such a summer color, I found myself wearing it on a Fall day. It just really stands out because of the blue green color! I absolutely love it and won't limit myself to wearing this in the summer time only! I only used 2 coats of this polish. Anyways enjoy the swatch down below (sorry for the swatch being a little messy, better to come) and I bought this from amazon.com for about $7!

China Glaze - Ghoulish Glow

China Glaze - Ghoulish Glow

This polish may look like it goes on clear, but it is a bit opaque just as you see it on the bottle.

Ghoulish Glow with the lights off.
In order for the polish to glow, you have to "activate" it by holding your nails to the light. This may become difficult if you want to go out and show off your glow in the dark polish because the glow only lasts about the same amount of time that you hold it to the light. But once you turn the lights off and see it glow in the dark, it looks amazing!

OPI Go Goth! Swatches and Review

OPI Go Goth! collection. (From left to right: nevermore, unripened, sanguine, obscurity)

I want to start with how cute are mini opi nail polishes? Too cute. I know some people find it hard to work with the mini opi polishes because the brushes are too small but I find it a lot easier! So on to the colors, they are very vampy dark colors. I <3 this mini collection.

*Nevermore is a purple color with blue and purple shimmer. I don't have a color like this in my collection so I'm glad I have one now.
*Unripened is by far my favorite. It's a black base with blue green shimmer, but when you see it in the sunlight it is GORGEOUS!
*Sanguine is a dark red almost cranberry color with red shimmer. I really like this red, great for fall!
*Obscurity is a matte black with a satin finish. Really simple and chic.

Funky Fingers - Baby, baby, baby

Funky Fingers - Baby, baby, baby. The Funky Fingers brand is not considered a "professional salon formula", but its polishes are fabulous and just as good as OPI or China Glaze. Another thing I love about them is that you can get them for a great price at Five Below - 3 for $5! And we all love a bargain, right?

It's hard to get a good finish with glitter polishes, as they often require several coats, but this polish will give you an amazing finish with just two coats -another reason to love it.

Baby, baby, baby (With Flash)
This polish is great for a night out.

China Glaze - It's Alive!

Can I just start with how amazing this China Glaze polish is! I have to say the number one thing I love is how fast it dries! I also love the murky greenish color packed with green glitter as well. A definite must have for fall.
This is part of China Glaze's 2011 Halloween collection.

OPI Obscurity Matte and Wet n Wild Party of Five Glitters

OPI Obscurity Matte- This polish is a black matte polish with a satin finish. Obscurity is from the Go Goth! collection (which I will review soon).

Wet n Wild Party of Five Glitters - This polish look amazing when you use the right amount of coats. I'd say 3 to 4 coats is what you would need. Also be sure to let each coat of polish dry before applying the next coat.
